Starting a Business

All new businesses must first be registered with the Office of the Registrar of Companies within the Ministry of Trade and Industry. New businesses are also required to secure appropriate licenses with relevant authorities before they commence their operations. Some of the important licenses to be obtained include the manufacturing license, trading license and the import/export permit. Applications for these licenses have to be submitted at the respective departments within the Ministry.

Access to LEA Services

LEA services are available at the branches situated in the district headquarters throughout the country. LEA Business Advisors will register and enrol the new entrepreneurs before taking them through the initial screening process for gap analysis. The results of the initial screening will determine whether or nor the newly enrolled individuals must proceed to the next stage. It is important for new entrants to pass the screening process for them to proceed to the next stage.
