JOB PURPOSE
The Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), mandated to promote entrepreneurship and develop Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), is transitioning to become an ecosystem leader and orchestrator in the development of the SMME sector. This strategic re-orientation encompasses a clear focus on becoming a sustainable and resilient organisation in pursuing Government’s true north and national development agenda. To support this transformation, LEA seeks a dynamic and strategic Procurement Manager.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The position will provide strategic leadership in the effective management of procurement, asset disposal and the supply chain operations. The incumbent will develop and implement procurement policies and strategies, maintaining a robust control and governance environment aligned with national legislation and regulatory frameworks, and advise senior executives on sound short- and long- term procurement decisions. This role will also ensure that accurate procurement reports are produced on time.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics.
Full professional qualification in Procurement (CIPS) or Master’s Degree in related field.
Membership of a professional procurement body.
EXPERIENCE
At least eight (8) years’ relevant work experience in a computerised procurement environment.
